Are you stationary? If in a non-anchored boat or drifting in a kayak, etc. this will drag the ROV slightly and will be difficult to control.
1. Confirm you are not in scan mode on remote (insert video)
2. Make sure remote joysticks are centered when starting ROV at controllers, restart to confirm.
General Information
The Roboview is designed for underwater exploration, ice fishing, boat and dock inspection, fish viewing, and object searching. (anything you can think of)
No. The Roboview is intentionally not wireless to ensure you can always retrieve your ROV safely via its tether and ensure quality signal transmission. The 5.8ghz radio broadcast signal is wireless to Fatshark FPV goggles, and any other wireless accessories.
Each Roboview comes with the ROV unit, FatShark goggles, a hard case, all necessary chargers, a microUSB card, and a lanyard.
No, the controller is not waterproof and should be kept dry during use. Step one, use layard when starting up a Roboview.
Performance & Operation
The ROV runs between 2 to 5 hours, depending on usage intensity — shorter runtime when driving at high speed continuously, and longer when operating slowly or intermittently.
Recharge time is approximately 2 hours.
The ROV is tethered with a 75 ft cord that has a 65 lb test strength, made from Spectra fiber and reinforced with Kevlar.
Yes, it is neutrally buoyant, allowing for stable operation underwater.
The ROV can pass through any hole 6 inches or larger, making it ideal for ice fishing.
The Roboview is made for freshwater use. For saltwater use, it requires modified “sea legs” to maintain neutral buoyancy. Contact customer support at support@roboview.com when ordering to ensure you receive the correct parts.
It operates effectively in air temperatures as low as -10°F.
Camera & Lighting
Yes. The camera has low-light gathering ability and includes high-intensity headlights for enhanced night vision.
The top location light helps you find the drone in the water or under the ice.
Recording & Viewing
Yes, the Roboview allows you to record video and capture photos.
You can download footage from the screen using a USB connection to your computer.
The FatShark goggles can also record directly to a microSD card.
You can play back recordings on a TV using a cord (live TV feed is not currently available but coming soon).
No. The Roboview does not need pairing with any smartphone, app, or external device.
Yes. Any 5.8GHz-compatible goggles will work for wireless viewing.
The on-screen display shows depth and temperature readings during operation. (in US or Metric)
Yes. The screen must be flipped open to display the live image from the ROV.
Maintenance & Parts
Yes, both the legs and propellers are replaceable, and the props are also removable for easy maintenance.
Power & Charging
The ROV, screen, and FatShark goggles are rechargeable.
The controller operates on 4 AA batteries.
